Composer (b. 1987)
The Italien Emanuele Palumbo studied composition with Gabriele Manca at the Milan Conservatory and then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris with Gérard Pesson. In his music, Palumbo often questions the specialization of the work of the musician and the composer. Using accessories—specially equipped bows, mutes, picks wrapped in felt¬—that he makes himself, Palumbo creates inhabitual playing styles and new sounds. The instrumental ensemble becomes a venue filled with a new aura.
