François Meïmoun studied at the Conservatoire de Paris with Michaël Levinas, at the University Sorbonne-Paris-IV and at the École des Hautes études (thesis directed by Alain Poirier). His works have been performed by numerous soloists and ensembles (Armand Angster, Quatuor Benaïm, Quatuor Ardeo, Alain Billard, Florian Frère, Chen Halevi, Sébastien Vichard…) and programmed in festivals in France and abroad. He was in residence at abbaye de la Prée from 2011 to 2012, and at the Chaillol festival for which he composed Tara with texts by Antonin Artaud. This work is part of a musical monographic project on Artaud, illustrating the poet’s existence and thoughts. He is currently composing his Quatuor III for the association ProQuartet.
