Julia Blondeau
Composer (b. 1986)
Composer of mixed music—instrumental and electroacoustic—Julia Blondeau also writes works for theater and is interested in the interaction between instrumental and electroacoustic writing. Her work on compositional spaces endeavors to provide a theoretical and musical framework for the organization of material and its connections with temporal and formal questions. Via the notion of space (topology), she works on notions of distance, of neighboring, of continuity/discontinuity within musical entities of different scales that form an ensemble of “compositional territories”. Saxophonist and pianist, Julia Blondeau studied at the CNSMD de Lyon and is now a doctoral candidate in composition at IRCAM (Musical Representations Team).
