Three perspectives on light, on shadows, on lyricism. Julia Blondeau, finishing her PhD at IRCAM, uses electronics like a "beam of light, a double, a flexible and reactive counterpoint, capable of following and anticipating the performance of four soloists and create a connection among their different temporalities". Electronics become their own figure, beyond a simple augmentation of instruments. Philippe Schœller, without technology, inaugurates a future series dedicated to the god of roads and navigations: Hermes. A god of writing and messages to give body to a spectral incantation? Finally, Claude Vivier, an ephemeral Canadian composer who passed away at the age of 35 in Paris, carries the melodic line to its most stunning climaxes through his unique exploitation of the sound spectrum, of homophony and heterophony. An archaism of modern times and an expression of a new lyricism.
